Feedback on evaluation Task Three

Looking forward to seeing the results of your focus group posted.  In address of the evaluation questions, it would be better to comment on specific examples in your audience feedback - perhaps this will be illustrated in the video's that you want to post.  I feel that you understand the use of the decoding model that Hall comment's on - in terms of preferred, negotiated and oppositional readings, but you need greater application of this model to your audience responses then draw out the conclusions that you make.  Also you seem to have focused on the music video - what about the poster and digipak?  Once the video is posted can you develop your task in accordance with the points I make above?  Excellent effort on task.

I like the presentation, in fact this is excellent.  I particularly think that you have carefully considered the consistency of the campaign and it's placement.  You have clearly considered the controversial nature of the video and images and how this may be scheduled without upsetting the audience.  In fact I think you have nailed an explanation of what controversy is caused in the music video and how this fits into the overall campaign and brand image of the band.  You attempt to sustain this image across the MV and ancillary tasks.  I also think that you incorporate Dyer's star image well into your entry which again adds depth to the arguments that you make.

There is some reflective explanation of the shoot day - well done.  You do need to extend this slightly in review - perhaps link comments to what shots you directed.  Also the pictures  you use are good, but could be presented in a different way - using other online tools.

This is excellent work - there are evident clear accounts of your planning and research for your music video production day after half term.  I like the way in which decision making is evident along with reflection and revisions.  Your cast list has been agreed and you need to be working on the set design and organisation of production.  There are one or two ways to develop the blog.  First to begin using a wider range of blogging tools - there are lots of well presented images, but use of Flickr or powerpoint will increase the creativity that is shown on your blog.  Second the valid, detailed and reflective comments that you make need to be developed further with  key media concepts and theoretical ideas;  for example, link the planning to star image,  or how set design and lighting link to mise en scene and/ or what model's of lighting you are using in relation to your set - key, fill, directional, discuss the untensity and colour and what you are trying to represent about your artist. This will help make a more thorough evaluation of your work.  Well done.

Good Work.  Your blogs are sound and you have been creative with your blogs, I particularly like the use of images and text with reference to media theory. You have a secure knowledge and understanding of who you want your artist to be signed to; perhaps you could link this further by stressing the advantages that your artist has signed to the particular record label.  Your clearly identify your target audience and have profiled them well - perhaps extend this to VALS? .  Good research into CD covers and you have a  range of examples, and this would be developed further if you added three more?  ALso consider the term gothic font - do you mean a gothic style font?

Well done! You could add be more careful with capitals in written work, label the blog posts a little more carefully and link your ideas to theory more closely and recognise the theory.
